3 New Items!

I've been busy today! I finished three of the projects I have going on. :)

All of these are completely handmade, including the decorative flowers and original logo on the back.

I'm so proud of my logo! It took me a while to pick one out, but I'm happy with the end result.

This is an e-reader case! It fits the Kindle and Kobo e-readers well.

I love how the patchwork turned out. A lot of people ask me if this is a single piece of fabric, but it's not: I put together all of the squares and then quilted them. :)

This one's my favorite! It was one of the most frustrating ones to make because I messed up once in the middle and I had to undo the stitches by hand and then redo them, but the result was gratifying.

I love the color combination of the flower and the clutch's light pink fabric.

Pretty logo. :)

Thanks for reading! These will all be in my Etsy shop soon.

Birthday Presents!

Today was my brother's birthday, so I made him a little gift. It's a drawstring bag!

My brother's a runner, so he'll probably use this bag to carry his shoes or spike shoes.

I was pleased with the finished product. It was my first time making this type of bag. I even added a fleece batting so the contents of the bag would have a little padding.

Three days ago (21st) was my mother's birthday! I couldn't wait to give her the gift I made for her!

This is a modified version of the fabric bag I made a while ago. I made it bigger so my mom could use it as an everyday purse.

I'm sure you were wondering what's written on the front of the bag... Well, basically it's French for "For the best mom in the world". "Mamamize" is a pet name my brother and I use for my mom (heheh).

Shop 'till you drop!

I finally bought myself a rotary cutter and board! These are such useful sewing tools and I'm thrilled I finally decided to buy them!

I also found these cute fabrics. I loved the fresh prints -- especially the yellow and polka dots -- and couldn't resist getting them. I already used scraps of them to make a super cute Kindle case (or everyday pouch)!

I got my prom dress this weekend and decided to make myself a matching clutch. I grabbed this material at a store in Miramichi. My dress is light pink, so I think this white material will match perfectly once I'm through with it. ;)

Improvised Pincushion

I just made myself a pincushion! I was inspired by Ayumi for this. I didn't have a pattern, so I just sort of improvised!

I should be getting new fabric soon. I can't wait!

Coasters!

So I just finished the first two coasters for my set of "Coffee Inspired Coasters"! Here's a look at the finished products of the start of the set!

I'm pretty sure I like the first one better.

Next time, I'll use a more contrasting thread to outline the cups so they stick out more!

More coffee inspired coasters coming soon!

Meet Felix

So this is Felix. Definitely a little crooked, but he still looks OK. I have to work on my hand stitching skills hahah

The next monster will look better for sure. I'm keeping this one for myself. :)

I even added a little tail! heheh

Stay tuned for my next project: a pillow case! I know, how exciting eh? ;)

Fabric Basket and Monsters!

My newest creation! Well, I can't take all the credit; I took the tutorial for this bag here. I mis-measured the interior lining, so there's a few places around the top of the bag that the material's bunched up, but overall I think my first bag was a success! Oh, and I got the adorable fabric at this store for a good price!

I decided to put my thread, scissors, pins and measuring tapes in the bag! It's a nice little size that makes it perfect for this purpose. I think if I make this bag again I might play with its size a little (perhaps make it bigger?).

Oh, and since I'm blogging, I might as well show you the next project I'm working on! Yes, it's a monster! I know they've been done a hundred times, but I just couldn't help myself; they're too cute!

I actually made the pattern myself (quite a proud moment).

So this is what the little guy looks like after I cut the material. The fabric, I got from Walmart; the felt, I got from my shopping spree at Michaels! I just finished sewing the front and back pieces together, and all that's missing to finish him up is the stuffing I forgot in the SUV (that's currently at the garage for repairs... ugh!).
